- SwachhAbility Run:
- Background: Over the years, through various sporting activities, Challengers of TCO were able to change the perspective of society towards PWDs. However, this was getting restricted to big cities/towns. Larger part of India was still living with the stereotypical negative mindset towards disability. TCO always believes in leading the change by action. Therefore, SwachhAbility movement was launched targeting tier 2/3 types of cities.
- Aim: To give a platform of running to PWDs of tier 2/3 cities in order to give the opportunity to perform. Alongside, general public, especially school kids were invited to augment the effect of activity and bring Inclusion as well as change in perspective.
- Event: In 3 years we covered 18 cities and touch based 55000 people. Approx 3000 PWD showcased their abilities. 37000 students of 380 schools were empowered and sensitized towards Ability, Inclusion, Patriotism. 50 families of martyrs/ war heroes were honoured as Chief guest/Guest of honour.
- SwachhAbility Awards: PWDs who have risen above their personal issues and contributing something for betterment of society were chosen for these awards. 13 individuals were awarded between 2016 to 2018 with a memento and Rs 25000/- cash.
- Aim: To showcase and honour hidden PWD talent. And to convey a strong message to public, “if they can, so can you”.
